Managers & substitutes have the ability to create bookings on behalf of the users in their holiday groups.
These do not require approval and will apply on saving.
This is useful if there is either:
1. An issue with a user's original booking - as the manager booking will override this
2. A booking that needs to be made for dates in the past - Managers can create bookings for dates in the past; users cannot
This guide details how managers/substitutes can create bookings on behalf of users.
Creating a booking on behalf of a user
1. Head to the front end of Holiday Planner (Applications > Holiday Planner)
2. Click the 3 dots and select 'Manager' to open the manager area

3. Click 'Create absence/leave'

4. A pop-up will appear; fill out the details of the booking you want to apply.

- User: Select the user the booking will be created for (you will only be able to choose users you are the holiday group manager/substitute for)
- Start date: Select the start date (can be in the past)
- End date: Select the end date (can be in the past)
- Leave Type: Select the day type of the booking
- Day part: Select from full days or half days (if allowed for the chosen day type)
- Comment: (If required) Enter a description to appear alongside the booking; otherwise leave blank
5. Once ready, click 'submit' to apply
6. The booking will automatically be applied. The user's planner and user quota (if applicable) will update to reflect this.
7. The user will receive a notification about the booking made on their behalf:

The type of notification they receive (in system message, email, etc) will depend on their notification preferences for the default or holiday planner specifically.
