Holiday Planner: Bradford factor report

The Bradford Factor is a means of providing a numerical statistic of average absence rates of staff within organisations and helps determine if this has become excessive.

Usually, this is for periods of sickness, but you can use the report for any day types you deem appropriate.

This is an optional report in Holiday Planner that your team can use to get an overview of excessive user absences if required.

Use the Bradford factor in Claromentis

1. Enable it

- An application administrator of the Holiday Planner can turn this on from Admin > Holiday Planner > Bradford factor

- Check the 'Enable Bradford Factor' box

- Select the 'Sickness' day type and decide if half days should be treated as full days

- Click 'Save' to apply

2. Run the report

- Now that it's enabled, the Bradford factor will appear in the Reports area

- Head to the front end of Holiday planner (Applications > Holiday planner) and click the 3-dot menu > Reports

Please note: You need to be a manager, substitute or user with permission to run a report to access this area

- Click on the 'Bradford Factor' card:

- On the next screen, use the filters to select the timeframe you are interested in and the group(s) you can run the report for. (Determined by whether you have manager/substitute rights/permission to run the report as set per holiday group)

- Click 'View' to run the report:

- Interpret the results on screen and/or download them to CSV for further analysis or record-keeping.

Your company can review each user's Bradford factor in line with company policy.

A low score (typically under 50 points) shows consistent attendance or that any absences are grouped into longer, less disruptive periods. A high score indicates frequent, unplanned short-term absences, which are more disruptive and can potentially trigger HR reviews or disciplinary actions.
