News: Admin overview


This user guide is for anyone on Claromentis 8.2+ 


This article will cover the admin side of the News application that will allow you to search for articles similarly to the front-end but with the permission restrictions lifted.

The information below is outlined in the video.

The admin side

When you first head to Admin > News, you will be presented with various tabs on the left-hand side of the page.

Let's go through them one-by-one.

News - You will be presented with a list of all news articles created.

From here you can add more articles using the '+ Add news' button. For more information, click here.

Upon selecting an existing news article from the list, you will be able to edit the article and make any changes.

Reminder: Permissions are not enforced on the admin side of News meaning that if anyone who has admin access will be able to see and edit articles they may not have permissions to on the front-end of the system. 


Channel and Templates - You will see a list of all the new channels that currently exist.

Permissions in the News application are tied to the existing channels (rather than individual news articles) meaning you can assign permissions by the channel that will allow you to direct articles to specific users.

Trash can - You will be able to view a list of all the deleted articles.

You have the option to either restore a deleted article so it can be viewed by users again or permanently delete an article from the system.

Export news channels as RSS - you have the option to create an RSS news feed for specific channels.

This could be useful if you are wanting to promote and/or notify certain news channels and articles to fellow users.
