How to create clickable region on an image

Your internal teams will likely create images and infographics for the Intranet to be displayed on Pages or in articles.

A useful feature is adding clickable regions on these images that can open other links.

Here is how to do this for images when creating content in Claromentis, wherever CK Editor appears, e.g. News, KB, text component

Step 1

Upload the Image using the image icon in CK Editor

Click the icon > Open the 'Upload' tab > upload image > Click 'send to the server'.

Resize the image to your liking, and it will appear in the body content.

Step 2

Click on the image to highlight it and then click the 'Insert/Edit Image Map' icon

Step 3

Using the shape tools, draw the area you wish to be clickable and click again to apply it.

Next and specify the below.

URL : the web address that should be opened when the region is clicked
Title: the tooltip to display when the user's mouse is hovering clickable region
Link Target: choose how the link should behave when clicked, e.g. to open in a new window or not.

Step 4

Repeat step 3 to add more regions to the image map as applicable.

Click 'ok' when done and close the window.

You can also right-click on the image to open Image Map tool after applying.

Step 5

Click 'submit' to save the component, or if adding to an article, save this as a draft or publish it to apply changes

Test clicking on the regions you created on the image leads to the URLs as expected.
