Sometimes, pages can be broken and made inaccessible due to third-party code embedded or custom component placed on them when editing.
Previously, once a page was broken, it could not be edited in the system; the only way to resolve this was for Claromentis teams to remove the offending code or component directly in the database.
Now in Claromentis v10+, pages can be edited in 'Safe' mode, which resolves this issue completely.
How to edit in safe mode
A page can only be opened in safe mode by users with edit permissions from the Site landing area:
Click the 3 dots in line with the broken page and select 'edit in safe mode'.
The page editor will open, and the offending component can be removed, and the page published.
General advice
The offending component is likely the last one added or the last one updated by your team.
Usually, these are concerned with third-party code, but not always, so make sure to check with all your Page editors to gather more insight.
Once the offending component has been removed and the page saved, check that the page can be edited through the normal means again (using the pencil icon on the front end, or 'editing page content' in the site landing area)
If an issue persists, continue to edit in safe mode to troubleshoot.
