Social Connect

It is possible to log in to Claromentis using popular online accounts such as Google, Microsoft, Facebook or X.

Some setup by administrators and users themselves is required first, and this guide details the steps.

Please note: Social Connect cannot provision new accounts, e.g. create them in the Intranet on login; it is instead an alternative way to authenticate.

1. Administrators: Configure the application

A sysadmin can head to Admin > System > Administrators > Socialconnect and add users as administrators for the Social Connect application.

Once saved, they can access its admin side to set up the API and client secret - Applications > Admin > Social Connect:

Check the box against each provider your team want users to have the option to log in with.

Advice for how to obtain the required credentials is offered in each section for your team to follow e.g. 'getting started with Google' as below:

Fill out the required details for each provider as applicable; we have specific guides for Google, Microsoft.

If you have any issues gathering the required information or completing the set up, please raise a support ticket for our team to assist you.

Apply all changes by clicking 'Save configuration'.

2. Users: Connect their accounts for login

Now the Social connect application has been set up, users can choose which accounts from those the administrator configured they wish to link to their Intranet one.

They can carry this out from the 'My settings' area in the 'Change password tab':

Clicking 'Connect' will prompt for login with the provider:

If successful, the account will become linked and can now be used to log in to the Intranet profile on the login page.

3. Testing and ongoing management

Once connected, users will see the options to log in via the providers that administrators have configured.

Here is how all of them appear:

Logging in with a connected account should be successful.

Over time, users can remove the connection in 'My Settings' by clicking on the 'Connected' drop-down.
