Allow Wildcards in Search Recommendations

Allowing wildcards (or other similar pattern-based characters) in Search recommendations would make the system much more useful for many types of content.
Example: Users searching for an academic calendar that is updated years could be handled with a pattern of "20**-20**" instead of needing to specify one particular academic year.
