Using People List component to introduce new employees, allow sorting by date started in descending order
Pages
Hi,
We're using the People List component to introduce new employees; however new employees on the list are sorted alphabetically, and this default sort obfuscates which employees are hired most recently. We'd like to be able to sort the list by Date started in descending order.
What is happening now is that a new employee with the first name of Charles is showing at the top of the list and continues to remain at the top of the list even when other employees have been hired after him. This is the list as it displays today:
FirstName DateStarted
Charles May 22, 2024
Ilka June 6, 2024
Juanita June 6, 2024
Kevin May 29, 2024
Maria June 3, 2024
Michael May 20, 2024
What we would like to see:
FirstName DateStarted
Ilka June 6, 2024
Juanita June 6, 2024
Maria June 3, 2024
Kevin May 29, 2024
Charles May 22, 2024
Michael May 20, 2024
This sorting option would let the newest employee always show at the top of the widget, instead of prioritizing an employee with a first name that starts with a letter with a higher position in the alphabet (tyranny of a first name?).
This sorting option would also prevent the issue of some employees always being hidden under the area at the bottom of the widget that is only visible by scrolling due to the limited space for the widget itself (also due to the "Search People" box taking unnecessary room).
This new option would also make the behavior of the widget for highlighting new employees consistent with the Employee Anniversary widget, where employee names will progress position down the list over time and eventually drop off as the "x" days window passes.
Thanks for the consideration!
