Ability to disable/hide document download button
Documents
It would be nice to be able to disable document downloading for document version control. So users can't download the current version of a document to their computer, so if it were to be updated on the intranet, the version the user downloaded would now be out of date. Disabling the ability to download would help ensure that users are "forced" to view the document hosted on the intranet and that version would be the most up-to-date version.
Coming from Ncontracts (BancWorks) Ntranet platform they have this function and it's disappointing that Claromentis does not and being told the below by support is very disappointing as in all other aspects Claromentis is a far superior product.
"The Documents application is for file storage and the intention is that users will download documents.
Unfortunately, there isn't a way to disable the download button if a user has permission to view the document.
The viewing permissions are attached to the features of the document and, therefore, cannot be removed.
If there are documents that should not be downloaded, the best option would be to put these on a Page rather than in the Documents application. This way the document information will only be visible and not have the download option available."
