Ability to "pin" or highlight people in Pages - People List component based on field value

We have been building out Department pages and displaying people in that department in a single column People List component that only lists the name of the people to conserve page space. If a department is one that is unfamiliar, it is not possible to determine who the manager is of a group based on this list.
It would be great to be able to either "pin" individuals to the top of the list to identify them as managers, or if that is not possible, to place a highlight behind the name of individuals in a People List component.
We would want to identify people who are managers based on a field value provided by the page designer.
If the People List component would let us choose the field and the value to match on (e.g., job_title = 'Manager'). If pinning is not possible, and highlighting is, it would be great for the page designer to be able to choose the highlight color.
