LDAP - Import nested groups

I noted on a training video for the IC Perms - Expanded plugin that the system used has nested LDAP groups and relies on this for the group-based expanded permissions in the plugin.
However, I understand from Hannah on the support helpdesk that the nesting shown in the video is experimental and Claromentis can't import nested groups at the moment. It would be great if it could (and it seems it is possible), as it would allow us to use the full functionality of the plugin. At the moment only three of the four options available for expanded permissions work.
