Prevent users accepting policies after a set 'expiry date'

Let managers set a 'expiry date' that will prevent users from accepting a policy after a set 'expiry date'.
Currently, there is functionality that enables managers to Set 'status expiry Date' however this functionality only will show the how many days left before the policy expires and also once the date has been reached, then it will show how many days ago that the policy has expired.
This isnt really helpful as users can still accept the policy after the expiry date.
There is currently a workaround where mangers can manually untick the 'Targeted Distribution' for specific roles and groups however if we have over 100 policies, then this really isnt feasible as it will take too long to disable.
A potential solution would be for the system to remove the 'Target Distribution' role for specific roles/groups after the expiry date has been reached.
