Add "Date Created" to user records

Hi there,
In the way that we manage users on our system, it is often not enough to know when a user last logged on. Users especially in some parts of the world seem to be quite illiterate and end up with multiple accounts being created.
We really would find it super useful to understand *when* an account was created...
I have requested this in the past albeit in person not via Ideas on here, but since this need just isn't going away I'm posting again here.
I can think of no downside to adding this field for new user accounts, although there could be an issue for existing users. Perhaps the value can default to 00-00-0000 for existing accounts?
